Each Wildabout Wampum is a unique art object made by hand. Marcia sculpts her jewelry in a clam shell. These shells are found at the bottom of the ocean where they absorb the amethyst which makes them very special and gives them a section tinged with purple.
Wampum is an Native term meaning 'coin' which originally served as a coin of exchange at the end of the eighth century. Today, these pieces are no longer used for exchange, but it is still believed that these coins bring luck!
