Joanne Ouellet

Joanne Ouellet's artistic background involves a long-term journey: from the Native universe to the world of childhood. Curiously, animals have always been a part of the journey. The works of Joanne Ouellet are inspired by nature, which will seduce your eyes. Her illustrations earned her, in 1981, the Canada Council for the Arts's Children's Literature Award.

She expressed herself by what surrounds her; nature, birds, wind, horizon ... and the islands of course! Her latest publication, Shorebird Carnets of the St. Lawrence River Islands, includes her sketches, watercolors, paintings and texts. Published by Les Heures Bleues, this book invites you to discover the life of the fauna that lives in the island territories, from the island of Orleans to the Magdalen Islands.
